Preserving, promoting, and celebrating the music, dance, poetry, and culture from Veracruz, Mexico--in New York

NYSF 2023

Now in its 13th edition, the NYSJF is an annual tradition in our son jarocho community. This year, we are excited to have ten bands join us from all over the East Coast in this celebration of music, learning, and sharing.

The Festival is an opportunity to celebrate our ever-growing community’s accomplishments, get to know our new members, and learn about the efforts to spread son jarocho traditions all over the East Coast. The celebration is by us and for us!

Please visit the Festival page for the full schedule (subject to change) and ticket information.

Through concerts, culinary events, dance performances, and educational activities, such as workshops, classes, documentary screenings, and book readings, audiences are exposed to this rich tradition, whose roots are located in the Spanish migration to Mexico during the colonial period.
